This month of free residential garbage collection is earned when they refer two new customers to Waste Connections Rio Grande Valley and those two referred customers sign up for new service. The new customers must provide the referring customer’s full name and phone number at sign up.

All Waste Connections Rio Grande Valley residential trash pickups are performed on a weekly basis using our 96-gallon trash carts. Each cart can hold from 10 to 13 trash bags. Waste Connections of Texas limits the number of 96-gallon carts allowed to three per household.

When To Place Garbage At The Curb

Please have your residential garbage collection cart available for pickup on either the evening before your scheduled pickup or no later than 6:00am on the day of your Rio Grande Valley waste removal service.

Where To Place Your Container: 5 Tips For Perfect Cart Placement

  1. Keep carts three (3) feet apart

Our Waste Connections of Texas trucks use a mechanical technique that lifts and empties the carts without the drivers leaving the truck. This helps to reduce safety hazards and ease traffic congestion on our residential trash pickup routes. The trash cart must not be obstructed at any time on the day of residential garbage collection. Allow a minimum of three feet of clearance on all sides of the cart from any objects such as trees, fences, mailboxes, streetlights and other carts.

  2. Keep all carts at least six (6) feet from cars

Do not park any vehicles in front of the cart. Carts must be a minimum of six feet away from any vehicles. Be sure to place your cart so that pedestrians may still use the sidewalk.

  3. Place the wheels of your cart as close to the curb as possible

Please place your Waste Connections Rio Grande Valley cart on either side of your driveway or at the edge of the curb. Placing your cart at the curb or driveway edge will ensure successful residential garbage collection by our automated trucks.
  4. Place the side where the cart lids open facing into the street

  5. Close each cart lid completely

Please remove all containers from the street as soon as possible after collection.
